Approximately how many candles does a pound of paraffin make?

I’m dipping candles that will be about 2 inches in diameter, and I need to know how much wax to buy. How many candles would a pound of paraffin make?
Anyone even have a guess?

How can i smooth candles after they come out of the mold?

Some of my molds make the candles a little rough around the edges, I would like to smooth them out.
