It’s my grandmother’s 80th b’day soon. I want to have 80 candles on her cake but I’m not sure how to actually convert my idea into a practical plan. Any suggestions? Or any alternatives?
I don’t want to use the usual 8 and 0 shaped candles.

  1. Candles stencil out the 8 0 on the cake .

  2. you can use he numbers or candles i used candles for 86 last year they loved it. lol

  3. Buy the candles in the shape of numbers and you only have to buy an 8 and a 6.

  4. Just make sure you keep a fire extinguisher handy.

  5. Get a candle of the number 8 and the number 0, 80, there you go!

  6. Nice! I see you don’t want to stick with the whole 8 and 0 thing! Try using 80 candles around the cake, like a border. Or get candles and make them into the shape of a big 80. What kind of cake is it, square or round. How big is it? It all depends.

  7. Arrange them in Roman Numerals!

    L X X X

  8. Go for the full effect. Get a sheet cake, I would get a 1/2 sheet even if you don’t need that much cake. Put all of the candles on….8 x 10. When you get ready to light them you will need some help to get them all lit before the first ones burn out. Use four people to light them if you can. You would each be lighting 20 candles. Start in the middle and work your way out each direction, so you don’t have to reach across the flames. I would have the two people on each short end of the cake light 16 candles each, that would be two rows. The other two people would light the center ones and they would start in the center…. 4 rows from the edge…. and light the six candles in the middle of that row…then move out a row and light six more. Each of those people would be lighting a total of 24 candles each. Have your cameras ready for that shot of all 80 candles burning.

EDITED: Sure you can. a half sheet, which only costs $30. measures 16 x 24. To put 80 candles you would have 8 going along the 16″ side and 10 going along the 24″ side. You would have a little over 2 inches between each candle. I just cut a piece of styrofoam 8 x 12 (which is 1/4 of what we are talking about) and I put 20 candles on it (which is 1/4 of the total candles). It looked beautiful.

  9. put those candles shape as an ‘8′ and a ‘0′ . there is no way for u to put 80 individual candles on a cake unless it s a real BIG cake.

  10. get the number 8 and the number 0
    candles

    otherwise get a fire permit
    and compressed air
no way is Grandma gonna blow out 80 candles

  11. 10 X 8 or 8 X 10 ….it can help and you organize it =)
